Register your Portable Device
We require students to register their computers with
SafeConnect in the dorms.
Beginning this fall, you must register your mobile/tablet devices with SafeConnect in the dorms.
For the mobile/tablet
devices, it will be registration only; there will not be a policy key to
download.
It should be fairly straightforward. When you turn on wireless on your device
and try to connect to one of the dorm wireless SSIDs, it will prompt you for
the password for your dorm wireless.
After you have entered the password and depending on your
device type, you will either get the SafeConnect registration page or a screen
like the one at the right, which will then take you to the SafeConnect
registration page.
Once you have entered your Harding username and password, you should be able to browse the network as usual.
Again, depending on the device, you may see a “?” at the
top in the notification bar, asking for more information. We found that some Android devices will show
the “?” mark and iOS devices typically did not prompt for further information
until you tried to open a browser.
