SIRI IS COMING TO YOUR CAR

This past Monday, Apple has announced its new partnership with several major auto makers. Together, they have created a new system that integrates car entertainment systems and the iPhone.

Known as the CarPlay, this system includes buttons on the steering wheel and a console touchscreen that allows you to easily access Siri, Apple's voice command system that we've all come to love. With CarPlay, drivers can hear and send messages, listen to voice mails, make hand free phone calls, access Apple Maps for directions, and listen to music on various music services such as Spotify.

The fist vehicles with this new feature will be seen later this year in Mercedes-Benz, Ferrari, and Volvo. Later on, it will be seen from the more common vehicles such as Ford, Toyota, Hyundai, and Honda.

Ferrari called CarPlay a "smarter, safer and more fun way to use iPhone in the car." Volvo said the partnership with Apple "promises to transform the in-car experience."

As you would expect, the system works by hooking up your iPhone directly to the car using a special Apple charger cable. As of now, only the iPhone 5 generation is compatible. But to all you who are like me and still holding on to your iPhone 4, don't worry... I'm sure we'll be more or less technologically up to date by the time CarPlay finds its way to our cars.

Apple's recent announcement of CarPlay marks a push ahead of it's tech industry competitors working to integrate technology into cars.
