Endless hopes to bring information to anyone with a TV
We live in a world that not only thrives on endless information, it survives on it. First-world countries are constantly accessing our wide library of information in order to accomplish any task, trivial to paramount, every hour of the day.
But what about the developing countries? Areas that may not have access to internet, or the funds to be able to afford a cell phone plan or a laptop? These people face struggles just the same as we do, but with one fundamental difference: they lack our access to information.
Naturally, some problems will just go unsolved. People won't be able to accomplish certain tasks and it seems there is nothing they are able to do about it...
UNTIL NOW!!
Endless has designed a desktop computer that is affordable and accessible to the masses.

The computers are designed to work for households that already have a TV, and are able to afford a mouse and keyboard, but work as a fully-functional desktop computer.
One of the most interesting things about the Endless line is that they are geared toward those who don't have access to the Internet. While there is an option to buy each with internet access, the inventors primary goal was to be able to give information to those without any access to Internet. Each computer is "preloaded with a full encyclopedia, educational lectures, recipes, health information, and over 100 other apps, making it the perfect solution where Internet is expensive, slow, or unavailable."
Naturally there are many issues that could arise with trying to make something this small. The primary issue: the operating system. Windows was too expensive, and wouldn't run on their cheap processor, Android is primarily a mobile system, Chrome requires connectivity, and Linux is too hard for most people to use. Instead, they opted to build their own operating system, a Linux-based system with a new, easier to use interface. As a result of this, the President of the company, Matt Dalio, actually views the company as more of a software based company than a hardware based company. One quote actually has Dalio saying they may eventually license the software out for free to other hardware companies.
Endless is striving to bring information to the masses. This could give millions access to new ideas for food, free education, and tools that they can use to break out of a cycle of just barely scraping by. Find out more at their website : https://endlessm.com/
