Welcome to Harding University!

Welcome to Harding University!
We here at DormNet are here to help with all your tech support needs!

During the school year we are open from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm Monday-Thursday and 10:00 am to 5:00 pm on Fridays. We are also open from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm on Sunday nights for any last minute issues when you're trying to get your assignments turned in.  We are still open this summer, from 8:00 am to Noon, and then from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm Monday-Friday!  You can reach us by coming up to our office in the Administration Building Room 205, or by calling us at 501-279-4545.

A couple of things to help you get started:
1. When you get to campus, you will notice that we have many wireless networks available. We highly recommend that you use the HU-Student network, as that will give you the best speed and security on our network. The password for that network is BlackandGold24

2. When you first log-in to the network on your laptop, you will be redirected to a page asking you to download a policy key. This is a security measure we use to ensure that you have working anti-virus protection and an up to date operating system before you connect to our network. Once those criteria have been met, you will be good to go!  (Some devices like Smart-TVs, gaming consoles, and other streaming devices may require some additional set up to work on our network. Please give us a call and we will be happy to help get your devices connected)

3. All current Harding University students have access to Microsoft Office 365 for free. Once you have registered for classes and can see the Student section in Pipeline, you can download it.  (For more in-depth direction read this blog post: Office 365 for PC/Mac: How to get Microsoft Office using Pipeline)

4. We have partnered with Philo to provide 64 channels of streaming high definition TV channels over the campus network. Currently enrolled students who are living in Residence Halls, Village Apartments and Legacy Apartments will have access to Philo when on the Harding Network. It can be accessed through a web browser, PHILO Edu for smartphones, and through Roku streaming devices. In addition to the streaming channels, users will also be able to record up to 20 hours of live TV. Philo can only be accessed through the secured campus network not the guest network and is not available off-campus or through the cell network. Check out our blog post specifically about Philo.

Again, welcome to Harding and let us know if we can help in any way!
