Apple is moving on from Intel...

On the latest Apple keynote, we heard some interesting news. Apple is not putting Intel processors on the new MacBook Pro! This is very shocking because this partnership has lasted for over 15 years.

Apple has been designing their chips for iPhones and iPads for a long time, making them very experienced on using ARM chips and integrating them on their operative system. They claim that they have improved 100x the speed of the first ARM processor they made. It is also clear how with little memory they are able to output fast performance and low battery consumption on their phones.

MacBooks have been long struggling on thermal performance. This means that the computers get hotter and don't run as fast as they could. Maybe Apple got tired of waiting for them to solve this issue –or even deal with it. Another big factor why Apple is making this switch is of course economical. Manufacturing their own processors should make producing computers even more cost efficient.

One of the good things that is coming with this change is that developers from iOS applications are also going to be able to develop for MacOS. In the latest keynote it was emphasized how important for them it is to have a seamless transition from one device to the other one. With their own processors they should be able to make a faster and less expensive experience for their customers.

We look forward for more news about their performance.
