Streaming in 2021

The COVID-19 pandemic has forced people across the world to stay indoors and away from other people. This in turn has lead to an increase in the consumption of bingeable entertainment, specifically due to the plethora of streaming services we now have access to. While Netflix continues to be the King of Streaming, many new streaming platforms have become popular within the last year including Disney+, HBO Max, and the very new Paramount+. Each streaming service offers a different variety of content. Recently, the quality of different original shows and films have increased. Disney+, for example, has in the last two months released two Marvel superhero centered shows (WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier) that are tied into the larger Marvel cinematic universe narrative as a whole. Although they are shows released exclusively on the internet, they have been met with critical praise and has the same quality and action as the superhero blockbuster movies. HBO Max has taken advantage of movie theaters being shut down and is planning on releasing there 2021 movie slate exclusively on their platform or in both theaters and on HBO Max. Wonder Woman 1984 was released at the end of last year and recently Zach Snyder's Justice League has also been released on HBO Max. Godzilla vs Kong is also being exclusively released on HBO Max and there are many more movies to come this year.

There is so much quality content on every streaming platform, so you can't go wrong with any of them. However, because there are so many different streaming services it can get expensive having multiple. In the future, it is likely that there will be less and less streaming services because of the stiff competition. I suggest trying out different ones that offer a free trial.
