Project Your Entertainment to the Next Level
Technology is once again changing how we entertain. TV's are large, heavy, and cumbersome, but thanks to the wonders of technology it is now possible to put your "TV" in a pocket, your hand, or a purse. How is this possible? The answer is projectors. Projectors have been getting smaller, more efficient, and therefore more portable allowing people to show a movie whenever and wherever they want.
There are several companies and products out there that deal with portable projectors, the Lenovo Yoga even has a version of their tablet with a built in projector. The projector that is taking the spotlight right now is Brookstone's Compact 100-Lumen HDMI Pocket Projector. If you can find a big enough wall the Brookstone projector can project up to the size of an 80" TV screen. The device can also handle 1080p resolution and due to the LED lamp it is not confined to working only in a pitch dark room. The LED bulb is rated to last up to 20,000 hours so you do not have to replace the bulb very often . Furthermore, the battery holds a charge of 2 hours without being plugged in and a has a USB port that works to charge phones and tablets so you can even watch a movie in the middle of an open field. The main attractive feature of these devices is that with various adapters you can connect laptops, phones, tablets, dvd players, etc... so you can project from any of your devices with no problem.
I have mostly talked about how these devices are used to show movies, however, these projectors can also be useful for presentations, gaming, slideshows, or any thing else that is on the screen of your laptops, phones, and tablets. This opens up the world of entertainment and lectures to a whole new way of doing things. As we look towards the future of these devices and as technology keeps getting smaller and more advanced who knows, maybe with a few tweaks and integration with other devices the holograms from Star Wars may become a reality... It is time to say goodbye to the days of gathering the group around a 17 inch laptop screen or carrying around your TV and say hello to the new way of entertainment.
