Upgrade to Windows 10
Are you ready for change?
Are you ready to ditch Windows 7 or 8 and upgrade to the new, modern looking Windows 10? Are you ready for a faster more personalized computing experience? Are you wanting to get this upgrade for free*? If you answered yes to any of these, you are reading the right blog post! This blog post will be your personal guide to upgrading your PC to Windows 10 for free*!* The free upgrade is only available to those currently running Windows 7 or 8. If you are running any other operating system you will have to purchase Windows 10 from Microsoft.
Where to begin
The easiest method for anyone running Windows 7 or 8, is the reserving method. Below you will find all the instructions you will need to reserve, download, and install Windows 10.
Reserving
Have you noticed a small windows symbol in the right hand corner of your screen? It may look something like this:
If that symbol is there go ahead and click on it. (If you cannot see this symbol follow the instructions I have below**) It will pop up a small window, and it will ask you to reserve your copy of Windows 10. This window will give you a step by step process to follow, so that you can easily reserve your free copy of Windows 10.
After reserving your copy, the next thing you will want to do is restart your computer. After you restart your computer click on the symbol in the corner again, and it should have your upgrade ready. If this is not the case you can manually check for updates by running "Windows Updates" which can be found in the "Control Panel". If the update is still not there, don't fret, your upgrade just isn't ready yet, so give it some time, and repeat this step at another time.
Now that your upgrade is ready you can begin to install it. This process can be very lengthy, and you should only do this if you are free for 1-2 hours. As well, you will want to have your computer plugged in, and charging the whole time this upgrade is installing because this can use up a lot of battery power.
And finally, once the install is done you will be asked to sign-in with the same credentials that you used when your computer was running Windows 7 or 8. After this is all done, your computer will have Windows 10 installed, and it will be ready to be used!
**If you are unable to see this symbol there is one of these two things wrong: your computer needs to run some updates, and restart; or your computer isn't capable of the new Windows 10 update. Even if you aren't sure which one it is you should search for updates. You can search for updates by searching "Updates" in the windows search bar, then click on the "Windows Updates." If any updates are done, you should restart your computer. If you weren't able to find any updates, and the symbol still isn't there, your computer is unable to Upgrade to Windows 10 for free.
