O Captain! My Captain!

It is that time of year again. Time to update your Macs to Apple's brand new operating system, cleverly named after a vertical rock formation located in Yosemite National Park, El Capitán. Here you can find out how to update your Mac to El Capitán, and find out about some of the cool new features that come with this new update!

How to Update

Us Mac users just happen to be in luck because Apple has made it very simple to update their operating systems!

Step 1: Click on the apple located in the top left side of the screen!

Step 2: Click on the first option that should read "About This Mac"

Step 3: A smaller window should pop up in the middle of the screen. Now, click the button that says "Software Update"

Step 4: Next an option should show up in the store for you to update to OS X El Capitan. Go ahead, and click the update button!

This download process could take quite a long time, so you will want to have your computer charged up! As well, you can continue to do anything on your Mac while the download is happening.

Step 5: Once the download is finished, the app store will notify you, and lead you through a step by step process of installing the operating system.
