Totally Wiggin' Out about Nintendo's New Rad Mini NES

Woah dude! Did you know The Nintendo Entertainment System is back and tinier than ever?! Right in time for the holidays Nintendo is releasing a modern entertainment system for those who need some serious nostalgia! Have some questions? Well here are some answers!

Curious about which games will be included on the system? These 30 games will be stored in on-board memory:
  • Balloon Fight
  • Bubble Bobble
  • Castlevania
  • Castlevania II: Simon's Quest
  • Donkey Kong
  • Donkey Kong Jr.

Still have more questions? If you are curious about whether or not your old NES system's controller will work this new system, you might be disappointed. The NES comes with one controller made especially for this new system. You might notice the controller port is different than the old one, but you may also recognize it as belonging also to the Wii Classic Controller so you can use that for your player #2. Each additional mini NES controller however, is only $10 so it's not a hefty price for a little bit of authenticity.

So what exactly comes in the box and how do I connect this to my TV? Well in each box is one controller, an AC adapter, and an HDMI cable as well as the cable itself.

Are you worried about the actual look and feel of such a trademark video gaming system? While trying to recreate the nostalgia of sitting on scratchy carpet in your pajamas while playing Super Mario Bros could be very difficult, Nintendo is making it easy to recall what the games actually looked like. The mini NES comes with three display modes: the first is the old-school CRT effect (complete with scan lines), there is also a 4:3 mode so you get the original NES look, and then there is a "pixel perfect" which turns each original dot into a modern high-res pixel.

In anticipation of the Holiday season, consider investing just $60 in this awesome blast to the past.
