Have Spotify Premium? Don't forget these cool features!

Music improves the long holiday travel times and can drown out your Uncle's indie folk band. Unless you absolutely hate music, you've heard of Spotify. The music streaming service has skyrocketed in premium users this year (83 million via "The Verge"). Students can receive a sweet deal on a premium subscription. First three months for $0.99, then only $5. You also get the basic Hulu subscription and Showtime channels. Warning: After my free trial of Spotify premium, I got addicted to no advertisements and downloads. I refuse to go back to ads. If you are already a premium user, here are some neat features you may have overlooked!

Spotify Me?
One of my favorite features is Spotify.me! The website will show you a variety of stats about your listening habits. From your current top artist to your top genre, spotify.me is fun to check on. Spotify will sort your listening habits between "lifetime" and "recent listening". If you want, it will create a playlist of songs and artists you might be interested in. I have found more relevant songs from this playlist than Spotify's typical recommendations. As you can see, I am a big Pink Floyd fan:

Increased Downloads.
For premium users, you can download songs to your device. The feature helps manage your data usage and enables you to listen offline. Spotify increased the amount from 3,333 song (per 3 devices) to 10,000 songs per device (on five devices)

Google Maps Integration.
I am a heavy Google Maps user. Recently, Spotify has integrated an interface with Google Maps and Waze applications. I have a decent travel time home. The feature makes it easier and safer to manage Spotify while checking on navigation. To enable it in Google Maps, go to Settings > Navigation > Music Playback Controls and select the “Spotify” option. For Waze, open the Spotify app, go to Settings > Social, and enable “Waze Navigation.”

Podcasts for everyone.
Spotify has more than music to offer, I have recently explored Spotify's podcast section. Many podcasts not upload their content to Spotify. The genre continues to grow on Spotify with new casters, offering a variety of topics from pop culture discussions to boring American economics.
