Digital Cockpit's

In recent years car based technology has advanced in leaps and bounds. There's been a lot of talk and focus on the future of the autonomous car, cars so smart that they don't require a driver. That being said, vendors are well aware that it will be a process to get to this point, there will have to be incremental changes that have to be common place before autonomous cars can become a reality.

One of the changes that we're starting to see in digital cockpits. These are very closely ties with the advanced drivers assistance programs, which encompass programs such as the blind-spot detection programs and active cruise control. The new digital cockpits provide the integration of a variety of driver assistant programs. The different models that have been put out have multiple surrounding display screens, voice recognition and a personal assistant. They allow for the integration of android phone with their processes, running many  of the same apps that you run on your phone.

There are many assisted driving programs that will be released with the development of the digital cockpits. Some of these programs help with braking, parking, and some even aid with steering. The steering aid programs will not allow us to check out completely, as they will still require us to keep our hands in the wheel, but they could help keep us from wandering out o four lane if our attention wanders. All of these advancements may not bring us up to self driving cars, but it puts us on the road there.
