Warcraft III Reforged is an unmitigated disaster
Warcraft III is one of the greatest Real Time Strategy games of all time. So, when Activision Blizzard announced at Blizzcon 2018 that they were remastering the game long-time fans were ecstatic to say the least. Fans were clamoring for a chance to relive what many call the golden era in the Warcraft franchise. Blizzard promised new content, redone cinematics with a new movie style camera, and many other things.

The game was announced and scheduled for a Summer 2019 release date. However, as production began, fans began to get concerned. It was announced that the story would be tweaked to fall in line with the canon that has been established since the game has been released. This decision split the fanbase in half. On one hand, it would be very interesting to see how Blizzard would rework the game to fit into the new narrative. However, some fans lobbied that the game should remain unchanged.
The decision was made to leave the game as it was originally released with graphical improvements only. In the midst of all this the games release window came and went and fans heard little to nothing about the game.
This week the game was released to the public and the fanbase was not happy with the end product. The game was released and fans instantly noted that the promises that Blizzard made about the game were not kept. Fans took to the internet to express their frustration and no place is it clearer than on Metacritic.com where currently the games user score sits at a 0.8 out of 10.
