Custom App Icons on IOS14
Replacing your icons on IOS14 is such a nice way to customize your iPhone home screen. But there is one downside to this method. It doesn't replace the icon, it creates a shortcut to your app. This is nice because you can hide apps now in ios14. But clicking the shortcut opens the shortcuts apps briefly. The sad price to pay for beauty.
1. Open shortcuts and click the plus sign at the top right hand corner of your screen.
2. Click add action and search for "open app" Should look exactly like the photo below. Some apps have an open app command, they will look a little different. The icon should be a matrix of colors like you can see below
3. Now you want to click choose and here you just choose the app you'd like to "change" the icon on. Here I selected the App Store.
4. Next you want to click Next and name the short cut to whatever you'd like. Here I named it "App Store" and then click done.
5. Hold down the box of the shortcut you just created and click details.
6. Here you want to select "Add to Home Screen"
7. Now click the shortcut icon and "choose photo" from your photos to replace the icon. You can remove the name here so the name doesn't display under the icon on your home screen.
8. Now all that is left to do is click add and move the "app" to wherever you'd like. Here I created the YouTube app like the old IOS version of the app. I also pasted the App Store twice, one with the name under the app and one without.
