Xbox and Windows 10 together for gaming.
Microsoft is very proud for his Operating System: Windows 10, they announced since their launch that this Operating System will be like no other the company has launched before. Adding the new Xbox app to windows store was just the begging of an amazing technology for the gaming industry.
Microsoft announced "Xbox play anywhere" and the idea is that all your games owned on Xbox One can be played on your PC as well. Let's say you buy a copy of the new Halo for Xbox One, then you register that game into your console. When you launch the Xbox app in your PC you will see that game and you will have the option to stream it. Your Xbox will be doing all the hard work with the processing of video but you will be playing with your laptop.
During E3 this year, Microsoft announced not only the opportunity to stream Xbox games but they also said that you were going to be able to play your PC games on your Xbox One as well, although this applies to games bought on the windows store metro apps. Microsoft also announced that if a game has a version in both platforms PC version and Xbox one version, that buying either one will get you the license for the other platform, this applies to non-windows store games they said.
The past...
Microsoft has always tried to bring Xbox to PC, in the pass it was called "Games for Windows Live".
It was without a doubt a complete disaster, the program never was able to be stable on PC, and the worst, you were not able to play a game on your PC while you family or friend was playing a different game on the Xbox. It did not offered any kind of streaming service, it was just a way to link your two accounts and see your achievements of both platform in one program. Definitely happy to see "Games for Windows Live" death, it was a real pain for gamers back in the day.
The future...
Since Microsoft started with the "Metro" apps, they have been adding innovation after innovation.
They are working on many others projects at the moment, for example been able to have your windows phone connected to a monitor and make it act like a computer. Also they added many developer tools to Windows through their windows anniversary update such as GNU/Linux terminal straight from Ubuntu.
In the gaming topic also, the next big thing will be the official launch of HoloLense in gaming.

It is always exiting to be part of a generation that makes the gap between fiction and reality so small.
